  • From October 6th through 8th, Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in the YGL U.S. Policy Roundtable organized by the World Economic Forum. She received U.S. policy briefings from senior administration officials including The Honorable Hillary Rodham Clinton, Ambassador Elizabeth Bagley, Under Secretary William J. Burns, Secretary Timothy Geithner, Valerie Jarrett and Dr. Larry Summers among others.

  • On October 10th, Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in The HistoryMakers Smokey Robinson taping. The HistoryMakers records both well-known and unsung stories of African Americans along with organizations, events, movements and periods of time that are significant to the African American community. Dr. Kennedy has known Smokey Robinson since she was very young. Honorary Co-Chairs of the event include Clarence Avant, the Honorable Richard & Maggie Daley, Quincy Jones, Vernon & Ann Jordan, The Honorable Colin & Alma Powell, Linda Johnson Rice and John Rogers, Jr.

  • From October 15th through 18th, Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in the Yoga Alliance Board Retreat at their corporate offices in Arlington, Virginia. She recently stepped down as Chair and continues to serve on the Finance and Nominating Committees.

  • From October 22nd through 25th, Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in the SVN Fall 2009 Conference at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa in California. She also taught a yoga class. The Social Venture Network brings the pioneers of socially-conscious business to collaborate and connect to transform the way the world does business.

  • On Tuesday, October 27th, Dr. Terri Kennedy attended the World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Index 2009 release event at Reuters in New York. The report’s Index assesses countries on how well they are dividing their resources and opportunities among their male and female populations, regardless of the overall levels of these resources and opportunities. Iceland has claimed the top spot from Norway which slipped to third position behind Finland. South Africa and Lesotho made great strides in closing their gender gaps to enter the top 10 for the first time.

  • On Saturday, October 31st, Dr. Terri Kennedy led a workshop for the Jack & Jill Metropolitan Cluster Event at the Mahwah Sheraton in New Jersey. She offered "A Dose of Power Living" - a mix of inspiration and healthy living advice - for the 500 women in attendance. Jack & Jill of America, Inc. is celebrating 70 years of being the premier family organization that provides cultural, social, civic and recreational activities that stimulate and expand the minds of children of color.

  • On Tuesday, December 1st, Dr. Terri Kennedy will be leading a professional development workshop for the faculty at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She will offer insights on leadership from her popular keynote on "Becoming a PWR® Leader: Serving Up Success."

  • From January 26th through the 31st, Dr. Terri Kennedy will participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2010 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland.  In response to new priorities, the organizing theme for the 40th Annual Meeting is a call to action, "Improve the State of the World: Rethink, Redesign and Rebuild". The program will focus on six areas of inquiry and their global, regional and industry dimensions: how to strengthen economies, mitigate global risks, ensure sustainability, enhance security, create a values framework and build effective institutions.

  • We continued to press forward this fall. Dr. Terri Kennedy participated in the "Summer Davos" Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China and presented on Global Health for the Young Global Leaders Summit. She also participated in the Central Harlem Health Revival Walk once again and was the keynote speaker for the Central Harlem Health Revival Health Conference and Fair. In addition, she attended the Second Annual Wall Street Partners Dinner sponsored by the Council of Urban Professionals at Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York. Read more about these past events.

  • Dr. Terri Kennedy is on the cover of the September issue of Yoga Journal. In addition, she did interviews for WUSB FM and WBAI in New York. Check out more media buzz.

  • Power Living advisor David Hinson was recently appointed National Director of the Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) by U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke. MBDA, through its network of 48 minority business centers throughout the country, provides one-on-one workshops and business consulting services for minority businesses to help educate them about federal opportunities, including those related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. It is the only federal agency created specifically to foster the establishment and growth of minority-owned businesses in the United States. We are extremely proud of his accomplishments.
