| Dr. Terri Kennedy feels strongly about basic human rights and creating equality through empowerment and policy in the United States and around the world, particularly related to issues of health & sustainability, women's empowerment, youth development, poverty and climate change. She is third-generation in her family to be involved in social change in the United States and around the world. Her great uncle was a member of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Black Cabinet," advising on education; her uncle was the co-founder and international director of Africare, which has given over $710 million in aid to Africa since its founding in 1970, and he was instrumental in developing the Peace Corps in Africa and Asia under President John F. Kennedy and Sargent Shriver; and her parents worked on five continents for over five decades teaching cross-cultural communications and leadership development.
